State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice Mirko Čikiriz delivered to Director of the Health Center “Stanovo” in Kragujevac Vasilije Antić keys of four vehicles purchased with the funds collected on the basis of the postponement of prosecution (opportunity), which will be used by the Home Care Service of the Health Center.

State Secretary Čikiriz pointed out that this year, through a public competition, funds from the opportunity in the amount of RSD 445 million were allocated to 130 projects and that more than RSD 200 million were allocated to the projects in the field of health.

“Improving palliative care is very important for the City of Kragujevac, especially when it comes to seriously ill persons”, said Čikiriz, and expressed his belief that these vehicles will contribute to the improvement of the health condition of patients and facilitate the work of health workers.

Vasilije Antić, director of the Health Center “Stanovo”, said that a four-car donation meant a lot for the Home Care Service which, as a “hospital on wheels”, provides help to the severely ill in all parts of Kragujevac who are unable to come to health institutions themselves.

“The Home Care Service, which reaches the farthest hamlets of the city of Kragujevac, does more than 200 field visits and 50 medical examinations every day”, Antić said. He pointed out that this donation will improve and speed up patients’ care, as well as increase employees’ safety.

Member of the City Council for Health and Social Policy of the City of Kragujevac, Gordana Damjanović, emphasised that the vehicles obtained through the Ministry of Justice competition were the best possible example of the response of the Government of the Republic of Serbia to the priority needs of citizens and that the functioning of the Home Care Service and the Palliative Care Service would be brought into question without this donation.

Head of the Home Care Service of Health Center “Stanovo” Radmila Obradović called the four “pandas” a valuable donation, since it is necessary to restore the fleet of her Service.
