Assistant Justice Minister Čedomir Backović took part in 13th Meeting of the Western Balkans Working Group on Justice, which is under the auspices of the Regional Cooperation Council.
Mr Backović noted that the development of a regional justice sector cooperation based on European Union (EU) standards and best practices was dependent on having countries of the region share their experiences. ‘Sharing experiences, good and bad, is very important for strengthening judicial cooperation towards a socio-economic development in the Western Balkans, which is in fact one of the primary objectives of this meeting', he emphasised.
Participants of the Regional Cooperation Council are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Montenegro, as well as the General Secretariat Council of the EU, the European Commission, the country holding the presidency of the EU, and countries and institutions which through donations and assistance actively support the process of regional cooperation in South East Europe.
