To help the COVID-19 crisis management effort, the Directorate for the Administration of Seized Assets has placed four hotels under its management at the disposal of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, i.e. the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team. These hotels are: Hotel Vojvodina and Hotel Putnik in Novi Sad, Hotel Patria in Subotica, and Hotel President in Palić.

Assistant Director of the Directorate for the Administration of Seized Assets, Mr Vladimir Ćeklić explained that Hotel President in Palić will house individuals returning from abroad who are waiting for their COVID-19 test results, whereas the other three hotels would accommodate the health workers who are at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.

The total capacity of all four hotels is close to 600 places, that is 120 persons can be accommodated in Hotel Vojvodina, 185 in Hotel Putnik, 190 in Hotel Patria, and 90 in Hotel President. All measures of protection against COVID-19 are being implemented in all four hotels.

Mr Ćeklić added that Mitrosrem − a commercial company from Sremska Mitrovica that was also under the Directorate’s management − had shown great social responsibility by having donated food from its own assortment to the most vulnerable. The company donated 20 tons of flower needed by public kitchens in Kosovo and Metohija, and 5.5 tons of corn flower to the City of Sremska Mitrovica for the section of the population that has been the most affected.

Mr Ćeklić said that, in the upcoming period, the Directorate expected to send a higher number of tablet computers and laptops, which had been permanently seized, to the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team for those quarantined at the Belgrade Fair Hall to use. ‘The Directorate will continue to provide assistance during the emergency situation as much as possible’, Mr Ćeklić emphasised.
