The Head of the Penal Sanctions Enforcement Administration of the Ministry of Justice Dejan Carević attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the first 250 flats in Zemun, Belgrade, for security forces personnel.

The foundation stone was laid by the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and the Belgrade Mayor Zoran Radojičić.

Prime Minister Brnabić announced that the construction of 1,000 flats in Belgrade would start in three weeks’ time.

The ceremony was also attended by two Deputy Prime Ministers – Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović and Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Zorana Mihajlović, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Minister Zoran Djordjević, and Security and Information Agency Director Bratislav Gašić.

Apart from Belgrade, flats for security forces personnel will be built in Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Vranje and Sremska Mitrovica.

As for the Penal Sanctions Enforcement Administration, 260 of its employees have expressed their interest in purchasing flats.
