With regard to the allegations made by some media outlets that J.V. was assaulted while in custody in the Belgrade District Prison, the Penal Sanctions Enforcement Directorate of the Ministry of Justice issued a statement saying that this was not the case. J.V. was not attacked nor is it true that his life is in jeopardy.
J.V. is currently being held in detention while awaiting the competent judicial authorities to make a decision on Montenegro’s request for his extradition.
