With the help of the “EU for Justice – Support for Chapter 23” project, the Ministry of Justice organised (on 15-16 April 2019) a two-day training event for its staff regarding the “Chapter 23 of the acquis”, aimed at strengthening capacities of the Ministry’s sectors for the judiciary, normative affairs and European integration and international projects.

Participants in the training were addressed by the Assistant Minister of Justice for Normative Affairs Jovan Ćosić, who, on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, welcomed the organisation of the training event. He pointed out that the training concerned was of great importance for the Ministry’s staff, taking into account future activities of the Ministry regarding the approximation of national rules.

The experts engaged by the “EU for Justice – Support for Chapter 23” project Malinka Ristevska Jordanova and Vesna Ćorić discussed with the participants the content and structure of the acquis communautaire under Chapter 23 - Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, as well as its relevance in the accession negotiation process.

Also supported by the same project, the Ministry of Justice is going to organise a new training cycle for the staff of all three sectors in May, which will address the transposition of the acquis into the domestic legal system and the use of tables of concordance.
