Today, Justice Minister Nela Kuburović received President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HJPC) Milan Tegeltija and the HJPC Secretariat Director Admir Suljagić. The parties discussed the state of Bosnia’s and Serbia’s justice sectors, and the Serbian Justice Ministry’s support to Bosnia’s judiciary with respect to Bosnia’s EU-accession process.

The HJPC President expressed hope that Bosnia-Herzegovina would soon be granted the EU membership candidate status and that negotiating chapters would be opened. He said that Serbia’s own experience in that same process would prove important to Bosnia’s harmonisation with the EU standards.

Minister Kuburović extended a warm welcome to her guests from Bosnia-Herzegovina, noting that the Ministry of Justice remained available to Bosnia-Herzegovina for any assistance it could provide based on its own experience in the EU negotiations and the acquis harmonisation processes.
