Serbia fully supports the “One Belt - One Way” initiative. There are no obstacles between our country and China and it is necessary to work on regulations because it is important to create uniform rules to facilitate the flow of people and goods and to resolve potential disputes, Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović said today.

Minister Kuburović, who met with the delegation of the Chinese People’s Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries, led by Zhang Jiyong, said that China's results in every field are impressive and that Serbia can learn a lot from China, both internally and externally.

“Serbia modernised as a result of its policy in the past five years and it also has a lower unemployment rate. We should not only connect through law, but also through culture and education, which is supported with the construction of the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade, as well as the Serbian Cultural Center in Beijing”, Kuburović said and reminded of the recent historic visit of President Vučić to China when 11 agreements were signed.

This is one of the confirmations of the solid friendship”, the Minister of Justice said and thanked the NR China for supporting Serbia in international forums in the matter of Kosovo and Metohija.

Kuburović pointed out that this conference in July was only a good start and that it was important that Serbia is part of the “One Belt - One Way” initiative and that work is done on regulations. She also pointed out that there are no obstacles between Serbia and China and that large investment contracts confirmed Chinese investments in Serbia and that good cooperation between our nations has been confirmed by a large number of Chinese tourists in Belgrade, the opening of the Belgrade-Beijing direct airline and the abolition of visas.

Vice President of the Association of Chinese Friendship with Foreign Countries Zhang Jiyong pointed out that the direct airline and visa-free regime show how good relations between the two countries are and that Presidents of Si and Vučić did a lot on the implementation of agreements and initiatives.

Zhang also said that Chinese national television “CCTV”, as well as several regional TV stations in China broadcast programs in which they advertise Serbia, its economic development and people's cordiality, and that there are more tourists from China who want to visit our country, and he hopes that more young people from Serbia will want to see China.

“Serbia actively participates in the “One Belt - One Way” initiative which includes common principles for the development and creation of well-being for all people. The initiative refers not only to the official cooperation between the two countries, but also to cooperation between the nations, that is, cooperation in the field of trade, culture, cooperation in all areas, and we know that our Presidents Si and Vučić did a lot to implement all the agreements and announced initiatives. All this shows that the two nations are connecting and coming closer towards each other”, Zhang said.

Kuburović and Zhang agreed that the two nations will become even closer and that Serbia and China will have more common projects.

The meeting was also attended by HE Ambassador of China to Serbia Li Manchang.
