Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović met today in Berlin with Vice-President of the German Federal Chamber of Notaries Richard Bock, with whom she discussed about cooperation between the two countries in the notary field and the enhancement of the exchange of experiences between Serbian and German notaries.

Minister Kuburović and Mr. Bock pointed out that Serbia and Germany fostered good and friendly relations and emphasised that, in addition to economic, intensive cooperation has also being established in the field of justice.

Mr. Bock pointed out that Serbia has a very good Law on Public Notary that meets European standards and that the German Federal Chamber of Notaries is available to the colleagues from Serbia for the exchange of experiences and further improvement of this judicial profession.

The Minister of Justice pointed out that after four years of work in Serbia, notaries justified their existence and that Germany has provided great support to introducing a notary profession to the legal system of Serbia. She pointed out that Serbia greatly looked up to the German notary system, which set high standards in this legal field.

Speaking about e-Government as one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia, Minister Kuburović emphasised that the Serbian Ministry of Justice is devoting great attention to the digitisation of the judiciary and electronic data exchange, which should facilitate the work of notaries. She pointed out that notaries in Serbia today are connected not only with courts, but also with registers of other state bodies which have necessary data for their efficient work, all for the purpose of providing legal safety and quality service to citizens and the economy.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Notaries.

During her visit to Berlin, Minister Kuburović will, together with the President of the Serbian Chamber of Notaries, sign the Memorandum of Cooperation with the German Federal Chamber of Notaries and she will meet with Minister of Justice Katarina Barley.
